Payment & Cancellation Policy


To reserve your spot on the Recovery & Resilience in Tuscany Retreat, you will make a deposit or pay in full via the payment button on the bottom of the retreat web page. The deposit is non-refundable. (However, should you cancel your reservation 90 days or more before the start of the retreat, you may apply your deposit toward another Recovery & Resilience Retreat occurring within 12 months from the date of the initial retreat to which your deposit originally applied. Or you may sell or give your spot to another guest. 


When you reserve your spot, you may either pay in full or pay the deposit. For those who make a deposit, the payment schedule is:

$350 US due March 1st;

$350 US due April 15th, and

$300 US due June 1st (final payment)

and you will be invoiced directly. You may pay with a Paypal, Stripe, or bank transfer – Canada only. 

Late Payment Fee

For international retreats, we must pay our tour operators in advance; therefore we must collect your full payment no later than June 1st, 2020. If you do not pay in full by June 1st, 2020, we will add $150 late payment fee to your invoice.

Cancellation Policy

Please note there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, family emergencies, travel delays or illness. If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply. We wish we could compensate people for unforeseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc), but we have costs already incurred when reserving retreat centres and hotels. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the case that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance. 

If you cancel the retreat:

90 days or more prior to the start of the retreat, you receive: 

100% of monies paid MINUS $295 US deposit

60-90 days prior to the start of the retreat, you receive: 

50% credit of the cost of the full retreat payment toward another Recovery & Resilience Retreat within 12 months, and will forfeit the remainder. 

0-30 days or more prior to the start of the retreat, you receive:  No refunds or credits will be given.

If Recovery & Resilience Tuscany is cancelled by Susan Ball:

We hope to never cancel a retreat, however, if we do cancel due to too few participants, we will refund to you all deposits and payments you have made. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. In the unlikely event that Susan Ball must cancel a retreat, or if a guest teacher we’ve hired to teach at one of our retreats is impacted due to family emergencies, Acts of God, weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, we may not be able to offer a full refund. It will depend on receiving a refund from the venue / tour operator we work with. To cover these risks, we highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover your entire retreat costs.

Travel Insurance

The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstance is to purchase trip insurance. Travel Insurance can protect you in case:

● you cancel your participation in the retreat 

● The retreat is cancelled due to teacher illness or family emergencies, Acts of God, weather, natural disaster, or not enough participants 

● lost baggage 

● medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured

We recommend Travelguard which offers a variety of travel insurances, including the option for a comprehensive “cancel for any reason” policy. If you cancel your retreat – for any  reason – your airfare, hotel, retreat costs, etc. up until 48 hours prior to travel, will be covered by Travelguard. This comprehensive package is called the ”Gold Package Cancel for Any Reason Policy”. You must contact Travelguard and purchase the policy within 15 days of buying your airline tickets or incurring any costs for any part of your travel. You can also just insure your air tickets. Travelguard can give you quotes for each scenario.
